Embedded Test Engineer (Linux) (m/f/d)

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Embedded Test Engineer to join our team at Technopark Zurich. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of embedded Jamming systems in a Linux-based environment, supporting advanced wireless and signal-processing applications.
You will work closely with development teams to design and execute comprehensive test strategies for embedded systems running on modern System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms, with a strong focus on system integration, APIs, and user-facing interfaces such as web-based GUIs.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain test strategies and test plans for embedded Linux systems (HW/FW/SW)
- Develop and execute automated and manual test cases at unit, integration, and system levels (HW/FW/SW)
- Validate and verify APIs and system interfaces
- Test software running on System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms, including hardware-software integration
- Perform testing and validation of web-based GUIs (frontend and backend interactions)
- Identify, document, and track defects, and support debugging and root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and tools
- Collaborate closely with embedded software developers, hardware engineers, and system architects
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement of testing processes
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in embedded system testing (HW/FW/SW)
- Strong understanding of Linux systems (user space and/or kernel-level interactions)
- Experience with test automation (e.g., Python, shell scripting, or similar)
- Experience in testing APIs (e.g., REST, RPC)
- Familiarity with SoC architectures and embedded hardware environments
- Experience testing web-based applications/interfaces
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English (mandatory); German is a strong advantage
- Experience with RF-Systems, RF-Measurement techniques and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing or system-level validation
- Knowledge of networking and communication protocols
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing environments
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Experience in wireless communication or signal-processing systems
