For one of my Medical Device clients, I am currently looking for a motivated and inspiring Software Team Leader to join their engineering team. In this role, you will combine hands-on embedded software development in C/C++ with technical and people leadership, contributing to customer projects in the medical technology and industrial sectors. Experience with IEC 62304 and regulated medical-device software development is highly valued.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop embedded software in C/C++ for customer projects in the medical technology and industrial sectors, following applicable standards such as IEC 62304.
- Lead, coach, and support the professional development of the software development team.
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate software development resources in collaboration with project managers.
- Implement hardware-related software on different processor architectures, RTOS platforms, and frameworks.
- Drive the improvement of software development methods, engineering processes, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with development processes, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, software architects, and other engineering disciplines while contributing technically to projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
- Several years of professional experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems.
- Proven experience in team leadership, people management, coaching, or mentoring.
- Strong knowledge of C/C++ and embedded software development; experience with RTOS and different processor architectures is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of IEC 62304 and software development within a regulated medical-device environment; knowledge of ISO 13485 is an advantage.
- Structured, independent, solution-oriented, and pragmatic approach to work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Fluent German/Swiss-German and C1-level English;
