Role: Test Engineer Tosca

Location: Zurich

Job Description:

• Several years of experience as a Test Engineer / Test Analyst in complex IT or banking projects, ideally in the credit or retail banking environment
• Very good knowledge of functional testing and test case design (incl. risk-based testing)
• Sound practical experience with Tricentis Tosca (test case modeling, modules, execution lists, test data service / API tests if necessary)
• Tricentis Tosca Certifications (Ex: AS1, AS2, AE1, TDS1, TDS2)
• Confident use of test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Xray, ALM)
• Experience with test automation (regression, smoke, end-to-end) and ideally integration into CI/CD pipelines
• Analytical, structured and quality-oriented way of working, high level of personal responsibility
• Good communication skills and enjoy working with senior test managers, test analysts, developers and specialist departments
• Good to very good written and spoken German, English skills (at least B2)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Test automation with Tosca Design, development and maintenance of automated test cases with Tricentis Tosca (e.g. regression tests, smoke tests, end-to-end tests).
• Effort estimation for the implementation of automated tests and coordination of estimates with specialist departments, test management and test analysts.
• Technical development of the existing Tosca test automation landscape (modules, re-use, standards).
• Test case design and creation (functional & technical)
• Analysis of requirements, specifications and user stories and derivation of testable acceptance criteria.
• Creation of detailed, traceable test cases (manual and automated) including creation and maintenance of a test case matrix for different test constellations.
• Ensuring that functional and non-functional requirements are fully covered.
• Test data management Identify, create, and maintain the required test data for automated and manual testing.
• Development of reusable test data concepts (e.g. in combination with Tosca or comparable solutions).
• Ensuring valid and consistent test data to avoid test blockages.
• Test execution (automated)Execution of tests according to the test plan (via Tosca suites).
• Monitoring and evaluation of automated test runs (e.g. in CI/CD pipelines).
• Documentation of test results as well as identification and description of deviations and defects.
• Defect Management Capture, analyze, and track defects in the defect tracking tools used (e.g., Jira).
• Work closely with developers, test managers, test analysts, and business units for efficient troubleshooting.
• Ensuring clear, complete defect descriptions including reproduction steps, logs and screenshots.
• Test coverage and risk analysis Support in the analysis of test coverage, especially with regard to automated regression tests.
• Assess requirements and features in terms of risk and priority to select suitable automation candidates.
• Collaboration on a risk-based test plan with a focus on critical business processes.
• Reporting and collaboration with the Senior Test Manager
• Preparation of test reports (test progress, test coverage, defects) for the Senior Test Manager.
• Transparent communication of results, risks and technical challenges in the field of test automation.
