What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with 5+ years' commercial development experience and a strong background in C++.

  • Strong commercial development experience with C++
  • Good programming experience with Python
  • Experience developing software within Linux environments
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and software engineering principles
  • Exposure to Machine Learning / Deep Learning
  • Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar frameworks is beneficial
  • Experience developing reliable, production-quality software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop production-quality software using C++ and Python
  • Develop and optimise Machine Learning / Deep Learning solutions for detection, classification and measurement applications
  • Integrate software with embedded and edge-based hardware
  • Take technical solutions from R&D and prototyping through to production
  • Optimise software and algorithms for performance, reliability and maintainability
  • Work closely with software, embedded, electronics and optics engineering teams
  • Test and evaluate solutions using real-world datasets
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical design and code reviews
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation


Nice to Have

  • Experience with Computer Vision or image processing
  • Knowledge of OpenCV
  • Experience with embedded, edge or performance-constrained systems
  • Exposure to camera technologies, optics or imaging systems
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git and modern software development practices
