Project Management Office

Business Analyst / Project Manager

Remote / Katy, TX Full-time

About The Role

The Business Analyst / Project Manager is a critical client-facing leadership role at Steel Ridge Partners. This position is responsible for leading the discovery, planning, and delivery of complex software initiatives by bridging business needs with technical execution. The role combines deep analytical thinking, structured project management, and strong stakeholder leadership to ensure solutions are clearly defined, effectively delivered, and aligned with client and business objectives.

Success in this role is defined by clarity of requirements, disciplined execution, proactive risk management, and trusted client relationships. The Business Analyst / Project Manager demonstrates ownership across the full project lifecycle, anticipates challenges before they arise, and ensures teams are focused on delivering meaningful, measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements discovery and solution definition efforts, translating business needs into clear, actionable deliverables for engineering teams
  • Own project planning and execution across the full lifecycle, including scope, timeline, budget, risks, and dependencies
  • Facilitate client meetings, stakeholder interviews, and working sessions to uncover underlying needs and drive alignment
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts such as roadmaps, requirements documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and status reporting
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned engagements, building trust through transparency, responsiveness, and accountability
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, and leadership to ensure solutions are feasible, well-scoped, and aligned with long-term objectives
  • Identify defects, gaps, or inconsistencies early, and ensure appropriate remediation before client review
  • Review and validate delivered work products prior to client delivery to ensure requirements alignment, quality standards, and completeness
  • Anticipate risks, scope changes, and delivery challenges; proactively recommend mitigation strategies and tradeoffs
  • Ensure delivery outcomes are measurable and tied to client value, not just task completion
  • Guide teams through ambiguity by providing structure, prioritization, and decision-making support
  • Mentor and support early-career analysts or project managers, fostering strong delivery practices and ownership
  • Contribute to firm-wide delivery standards, templates, and process improvements
  • Participate in strategic initiatives that improve how SRP delivers and scales consulting and productized solutions

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or hybrid delivery roles within software or technology consulting environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder software projects from discovery through delivery
  • Strong experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, timelines, and priorities in fast-moving or ambiguous environments
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams and understanding software development lifecycles (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with project planning and delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar)
  • Ability to balance client needs, delivery constraints, and long-term solution quality
  • Consulting mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and professionalism
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth

Competencies
