Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage database environments across on-premises, AWS, and Microsoft Azure platforms.
• Administer and maintain Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Redis databases, ensuring availability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, and related architectures.
• Monitor database, operating system, and cloud resources; define alerts and thresholds and take proactive action to prevent service disruptions.
• Design, implement, and validate database backup, restore, and recovery procedures across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Perform database cloning, refresh, migration, and data copy activities for development, test, and non-production environments.
• Troubleshoot database and cloud platform incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Work closely with development and application teams on SQL tuning, indexing, partitioning, execution plans, and other performance optimization activities.
• Support database security, auditing, access management, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in database patching, upgrades, migrations, and cloud modernization projects.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for business-critical production database and data platform services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration, particularly with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and Redis administration.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle ASM, RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server clustering, Always On, and high-availability architectures.
• Solid experience in database backup/recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity management.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, including cloud database and infrastructure services.
• Experience managing databases in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate is a plus.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Exadata, or other NoSQL/database technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of database security, auditing, encryption, and access management is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
