Storage and Backup Administrator

EmbedIT is the Vietnamese engineering arm of a Czech fintech group (PPF Group), building and operating systems for financial services, data platforms, mobile applications, and core banking.

We are seeking a reliable Storage & Backup Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our enterprise storage arrays and data backup systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all critical data is securely backed up, readily restorable, and that our storage networks operate at peak performance. Working closely with virtualisation, database, and security teams, you will participate in maintaining our Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness.

You will manage and optimise the enterprise storage arrays and backup systems that protect a global financial platform - Hitachi Vantara SAN, Cohesity NetBackup, and Veeam - where zero data loss is the mission, not a nice-to-have. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will work alongside virtualisation, database, and security teams to keep critical data securely backed up, instantly restorable, and Disaster Recovery-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise storage on Hitachi Vantara (VSP series), NetApp, and Dell EMC — provisioning block and file storage, volume mapping, and Fibre Channel zoning.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot daily backup jobs, replication, and long-term archiving across Cohesity NetBackup, Veeam, and Commvault.
• Run regular Disaster Recovery drills, verifying backup integrity and restore speeds.
• Monitor storage utilisation, forecast growth, and tune deduplication and compression settings.
• Build monitoring dashboards and configure alerting for capacity, job failures, and performance thresholds in Prometheus and Grafana.
• Automate routine provisioning checks and backup reporting with Python and Bash.
• Collaborate with virtualisation, database, and security teams to maintain DR readiness.

Your Experience and Skills

• 2+ years of dedicated experience in enterprise storage and/or backup administration.
• Hands-on experience with Hitachi enterprise storage (VSP / Hitachi Vantara), plus solid understanding of SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel switches (Cisco/Brocade), and LUN provisioning.
• Hands-on experience with Cohesity NetBackup (formerly Veritas NetBackup) — policy configuration, scheduling, troubleshooting, and restoration.
• Basic scripting in Bash or Python to check backup logs and automate alerts, with basic Linux and Windows knowledge.
• Solid English (B2) for daily team collaboration, with strong attention to detail and a high sense of responsibility.
• Nice to have: Veeam or Commvault experience; cloud backup (AWS S3, Azure Blob); NetApp ONTAP or Dell EMC storage.
• Nice to have: building monitoring dashboards and API-based backup reporting in Prometheus/Grafana; experience in a highly regulated environment (FinTech, Banking, Telecom).
