Post-Sales Service EngineerOpen Networking / Data Center & AI Infrastructure

Location: On-site/Hybrid (Sunnyvale) Industry: Open Networking | Cloud & AI Data Center Infrastructure

Our client is a fast-growing provider of open networking solutions powering hyperscalers, cloud data centers, and AI infrastructure customers worldwide. They build high-performance Ethernet switching platforms built on SONiC and other open network operating systems — and they're looking for a Post-Sales Service Engineer to join their global technical support organization.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who thrives at the intersection of deep networking expertise and high-stakes customer support — helping enterprise, cloud, and hyperscale customers deploy, operate, and scale mission-critical network infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Own post-sales technical support and service delivery for strategic accounts — from deployment support through issue escalation and resolution
  • Act as the technical bridge between customers and internal engineering teams, driving fast, effective resolution of product and deployment issues
  • Diagnose and resolve complex challenges across switching hardware, network operating systems, and data center environments
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, R&D, TAC, and Customer Engineering to reproduce and resolve customer-reported issues
  • Perform hardware-level diagnostics (power, thermal, component-level failure isolation) when needed
  • Manage RMA and spares logistics, including inventory tracking and customer communication
  • Build out troubleshooting guides, knowledge base content, and service best practices
  • Support customer onsite visits, lab validation, POC testing, and deployment readiness reviews
  • Help continuously improve support processes and overall customer experience

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or related technical field
  • 3+ years in technical support, network operations, deployment engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
  • Solid grounding in Ethernet switching, routing, and data center networking
  • Hands-on experience with core networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, IPv6, VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS VPN, MLAG/VSU
  • Working knowledge of Linux, SONiC, or other network operating systems
  • Strong cross-domain troubleshooting skills — hardware, software, and network layers
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging directly with customers and engineering stakeholders
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving, customer-driven environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting hyperscaler, cloud, or AI infrastructure environments
  • Exposure to open/whitebox networking platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Broadcom-based Ethernet switches and SONiC deployments
  • Familiarity with EVPN-VXLAN fabrics and AI cluster networking architectures
  • Background in RMA operations, spares management, or field service
  • Experience managing large-scale network deployment projects

Who Thrives Here

You're a customer-first problem solver who's equally comfortable in a CLI as you are on a customer call. You like untangling hard technical issues, building trust across teams, and working in a fast-growing environment where the next challenge is always a little different from the last.
