Travel Required: Yes (Ability to travel approximately 4-6 weeks a year)
Requirements
Essential Functions
- Improves software quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures
- Enhances applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing software systems
- Maintains and improves existing codebases and peer review code changes
- Liaises with colleagues to implement technical designs
- Investigates and uses new technologies where relevant
- Determines and analyzes requirements for software supporting training/testing devices
- Conducts independent software validation, verification, and accreditation.Provide support for CDS-related issues, ensuring the issue is resolved quickly and corrective actions are well documented
- Travel to CDS sites to perform updates/installations, provide CDS-related training as requested
- Work with the CDS vendor when a new build is being developed, providing guidance and assisting with the testing
- Maintain awareness of Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements and ensure the CDSs are in compliance with updates
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, Master's preferred
- 5+ years of software development experience
- In-depth knowledge of SELinux, Python, Perl, C++, Java, bash, regular expressions
- Ability to perform reverse engineering to analyze items identified above
- Ability to learn new programming concepts
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and make appropriate modifications
- Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) required to start, CISSP preferred
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
- Ability to travel approximately 4-6 weeks a year
