We are looking for a Senior/Lead Embedded Systems & FPGA Engineer to join a growing engineering team developing complex, high-performance embedded hardware and software security systems.


This is a highly hands-on role covering Embedded Linux, FPGA development, firmware and hardware/software integration, with the opportunity to work across the full technology stack from low-level platform development through to system integration and testing.


The Role

  • Develop and maintain Embedded Linux BSPs, including kernel configuration, device trees and board bring-up.
  • Develop Linux device drivers and kernel modules for custom hardware and FPGA peripherals.
  • Develop low-level firmware and middleware using C/C++.
  • Design and integrate FPGA/RTL solutions using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Integrate FPGA IP and define hardware/software interfaces.
  • Support FPGA simulation, verification, synthesis, timing and in-system debugging.
  • Configure bootloaders and embedded Linux root filesystems.
  • Develop userspace applications and automated hardware test tools.
  • Debug complex hardware/software/FPGA interactions using laboratory equipment and protocol analysers.
  • Contribute to system architecture, technical documentation and interface specifications.


What We are Looking For

  • 6+ years' experience in embedded systems, FPGA development or mixed hardware/software engineering.
  • Strong experience with Embedded Linux, particularly BSPs, kernel drivers, device trees and bootloaders.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Practical experience with FPGA development and RTL design.
  • Hands-on experience debugging embedded hardware and software.
  • Comfortable working across hardware and software boundaries in a fast-moving engineering environment.


Nice to Have

  • Zephyr or FreeRTOS experience.
  • Xilinx/AMD SoC platforms and toolchains.
  • Python, Bash or TCL scripting.
  • Experience with PCIe, DDR, Ethernet or DSP technologies.
  • Rust experience.
