We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (French-speaking) (m/f/d) to join our Professional Services team in Barcelona.



Overall Goals:

  • To manage complex IT / technology implementation projects end-to-end, in highly regulated environments, from initiation to successful closure.
  • To act as the business delivery lead, ensuring that customer’s objectives are met within the agreed scope, timeline, quality, and budget.
  • To provide structured project governance, stakeholder coordination, and risk control across internal teams, customers, partners, and subcontractors, with a strong focus on effective communication in French and English.



Responsibilities:

  • Independent end-to-end management of complex customer projects within our CBDC ecosystem, which includes backend applications, mobile apps, digital wallets, smart cards, and integration components. Our customers are typically Central Banks.
  • Confident control of projects and management of the project team over the entire project cycle from requirements analysis to handover.
  • Proactive management of project risks and change requests, ensuring effective control and continuity across projects ranging from short-term initiatives to complex multi-year programs.
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on different hierarchical levels in an international environment.
  • Establish and execute effective project governance including status reporting, steering meetings, escalation management, and decision tracking.
  • Facilitating customer communication, alignments, and follow-ups in French and English.
  • Ensuring subcontractors, where applicable, are well-managed in terms of scope, quality, dependencies and timelines.
  • Processing of intricate tenders and proposals, together with our business development and technical teams.



Skills:

  • You have at least eight years of experience in managing complex IT projects for customers. Project teams respect you and you take good care of them.
  • You demonstrate resilience and decisive leadership under pressure, maintaining strategic focus and guiding projects through complex challenges to successful outcomes.
  • You can translate requirements into reliable project effort estimates and realistic implementation plans, that support effective decision-making and delivery control.
  • You communicate convincingly in French and English, both with internal and external stakeholders at all hierarchical levels.
  • You have strong multicultural awareness and a respectful approach towards working with people from diverse international backgrounds.
  • You have excellent analytical skills and can quickly grasp new, complex topics.
  • You are able to effectively moderate and steer business or technical discussions, even if you are not an expert in the topic being discussed. When needed, you make decisions based on limited information.
  • You keep track of things even in troubled waters and steer projects to success in a targeted and effective manner.



Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with economics, central banks, digital currencies, or payment infrastructure projects
  • Experience with projects in the area of payments or with solutions that place high demands on IT security
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification
  • Additional languages such as Arabic, Spanish or German



Organizational:

  • In your role you will be an integral part of the Professional Services team, whose main responsibility is to successfully deliver customer projects.
  • The position is intended to be based in our Sant Joan Despí, Barcelona office.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to meet customers on an regular basis is required.
  • You should be comfortable operating in a confidential, high-governance, customer-facing environment.
  • You should bring a strong sense of ownership, follow-through, and professionalism when dealing with dignitaries, senior stakeholders, and sensitive information.
