Deployment Engineer

🚀 Deployment Engineer | Hamburg | €70,000–€110,000 | 40–60% Travel

For one of our clients, a fast-growing technology company operating in the XR / security-critical space, we’re looking for a Deployment Engineer to join their team in Hamburg.

This is not a traditional internal DevOps role.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being close to the customer: deploying and configuring software and hardware on-site, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring solutions work reliably in real-world environments.

✈️ 40–60% travel across Germany & Europe

💰 €70,000–€110,000 fixed salary, depending on experience

What you’ll be doing

• Install, configure and update software solutions across cloud, on-premise and offline environments

• Deploy and manage Android-based device / XR hardware fleets via MDM

• Set up and troubleshoot networks, including Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VPNs and firewalls

• Work directly with customers during on-site deployments

• Deliver technical onboarding and training to users and IT administrators

• Document deployments and maintain runbooks

• Automate recurring procedures using Bash, PowerShell or Python

• Act as the technical link between customers and internal Engineering & Product teams

What we’re looking for

You bring 3+ years of experience in Deployment Engineering, IT Deployment, System Administration, DevOps, Technical Consulting or a similar technical role.

Crucially, you have experience working directly with customers and are comfortable implementing and troubleshooting technology on-site.

Ideally, you bring:

✓ Linux and/or Windows administration

✓ Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls

✓ Bash, PowerShell and/or Python scripting

✓ Experience with MDM solutions for Android-based devices or XR hardware

✓ Basic understanding of Docker & Kubernetes

✓ Very good German and good English

✓ Strong communication skills and a professional customer-facing approach

✓ Willingness to travel 40–60% across Germany and Europe

Experience in government, defence or another security-critical environment would be a plus.

Due to the nature of the customer environment, EU/NATO citizenship is required.

A note on travel ✈️

This is an important part of the role.

Travel can include multi-day customer deployments, early starts and occasional work outside standard office hours. Most assignments are currently within Germany, with European travel also expected.

When you’re not travelling, Hamburg is your home base, with regular office presence as part of the hybrid setup.

This could be a great fit for someone coming from Deployment Engineering, Professional Services, Technical Consulting or customer-facing Systems Engineering who enjoys combining hands-on technology with direct customer interaction.
