Job Title: Programmer Analyst 6
Location: Lansing, MI – Hybrid
Duration: 1 Year+ Contract, dependent on business need
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test application programs, including new development and enhancements to existing modules.
- Provide production support, including issue analysis, bug fixes, testing, and deployment to production environments.
- Collaborate with Application Architects and Business Analysts to confirm and validate both functional and technical designs.
- Develop and maintain necessary technical documentation and participate in design reviews as scheduled.
- Analyze requirements, code, and test simple to moderately complex program modules, ensuring quality and compliance with design specifications.
- Apply sound technical, industry, and domain knowledge to all tasks and project work.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in coding practices, system performance, and team processes.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of Java – Strong object-oriented programming skills and familiarity with Java-based enterprise application development.
- 5+ years of Spring Boot – Experience with creating RESTful APIs and using Spring Boot for building scalable and maintainable applications.
- 5+ years of Angular – Proficient in developing responsive, single-page web applications using Angular.
- 5+ years of SQL – Ability to write efficient SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting; experience with relational database systems.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools and version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application performance tuning.
- Experience supporting Child Support applications, programs, or initiatives.
Additional Requirements
- Hybrid Work Schedule (non-negotiable): There is NO remote-only option. Wednesdays and Thursdays are REQUIRED on-site days (cannot be modified).
- Open to candidates local to the Lansing, Michigan area or those willing to relocate from DAY ONE at their OWN EXPENSE.
- Interview process should be all virtual. If they are unsure about a candidate, they may ask them to come on-site if they are able to, but all virtual is fine for candidates that are relocating.
- Usually 1–2 rounds of interviews, with a mix of soft skills and technical skills questions.
- Candidates should join from a laptop and be prepared to share their screen if requested.
- A screenshot photo of the candidate will be required for any interviews, as well as a vendor present at the beginning of the virtual interview to validate the candidate.
- 2 professional references are required and must be attached to the bid in a separate document.
