Position Overview
TAP Engineering is seeking a System Administrator to provide end-to-end support for complex, distributed computing and storage environments. This role supports a multi-vendor, high-performance infrastructure spanning multiple sites and includes enterprise storage systems, Fibre Channel fabrics, networks, and Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining system availability, reliability, security, and performance while troubleshooting issues across hardware, operating systems, storage, networks, and client/server environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across multiple technologies, solving complex technical problems, and identifying opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.

- Enterprise and HPC computing environments
- Storage management and monitoring tools
- Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
- Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and incident response for storage environments
- Manage and sustain enterprise and HPC storage systems
- Support client/server, storage, and network devices
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support based on experience level
- Escalate issues appropriately and communicate status to Government and internal stakeholders
- Support dispatch operations for hardware-related issues and remain engaged through resolution
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Provide detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Document system configurations, procedures, and sustainment activities
- Follow Government-defined ticketing, change management, and operational procedures
- Maintain accurate system documentation and records
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (most recent poly within the last 7 years)
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification
- Experience administering Linux-, Unix-, or Windows-based systems
- Experience supporting enterprise or HPC storage environments
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to support mission-critical systems in a 24/7 operational environment (as required)
- Ability to collaborate with Government and contractor personnel
