Hiring: Linux, Storage & Backup Engineer (L2) – UAE

We are currently hiring an experienced Linux, Storage & Backup Engineer (L2) for a full-time, onsite opportunity supporting a large-scale UAE Federal Government environment.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role focused on ensuring the resilience, availability and recoverability of critical Linux platforms and enterprise data.

📍 Location: UAE – Onsite

🕒 Working Pattern: 5 days per week, 9 hours per day

💼 Employment: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, patch and harden Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments

• Manage patching and content through Red Hat Satellite

• Manage SAN/NAS enterprise storage, including provisioning, replication and capacity planning

• Operate Veritas NetBackup, including backup jobs, restore validation, encryption and integrity checks

• Plan and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, including RTO/RPO validation

• Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python and Ansible

• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents and resolve issues within agreed SLAs

• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks and DR/restore reports

• Support capacity planning, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement

Requirements:

✅ 5+ years of hands-on experience across Linux, enterprise storage and backup operations

✅ Strong RHEL administration experience

✅ Hands-on SAN/NAS storage experience

✅ Enterprise backup experience, ideally Veritas NetBackup

✅ Experience with Disaster Recovery, RTO/RPO and DR testing

✅ Experience working within an SLA-driven / ITIL environment

✅ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience

✅ Fluent English

Mandatory Certifications:

• RHCSA – Red Hat Certified System Administrator

• Veritas NetBackup Administrator certification or equivalent backup certification

Highly Desirable:

• RHCE

• NetApp NCDA

• Dell EMC / HPE storage certification

• ITIL v4 Foundation

• Arabic language skills
