Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong backend expertise in Java and Spring Boot, along with hands-on experience developing responsive user interfaces using React.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Newark, DE is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below). In person Interview

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications using Java and React.
• Build scalable and secure backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end applications using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Integrate React applications with Java-based backend systems and third-party services.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in requirements analysis, technical design, code reviews, and system testing.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects and production issues.
• Develop unit, integration, and automated tests.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful web services and microservices.
• Professional experience with React.js and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design.
• Experience with state-management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or similar tools.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development principles.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative source-control workflows.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Jest, or React Testing Library.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems.
• Familiarity with Node.js and npm.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
