We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Service & Support Engineer to join our Customer Service team based in North Ryde, NSW.
In this role, you will support the full lifecycle of Siemens Mobility digital rail systems, including implementation, maintenance, incident response, root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities. Working across Linux and Windows environments, VMware platforms, networking infrastructure and field equipment, you will help ensure service levels and contract KPIs are achieved while delivering high-quality support to our customers.
You will:
- Provide remote and onsite Level 2 technical support for Siemens Mobility rail systems.
- Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot servers, virtual machines, operating systems, networking equipment and supporting applications.
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct system health checks, preventive maintenance and audit activities.
- Support installation, configuration, patching, backup validation and recovery activities.
- Work closely with engineering teams, subcontractors and customers to resolve issues and meet service targets.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call support roster.
- Maintain technical documentation, support procedures and knowledge base records.
- Support service transition, continuous improvement and pre-sales activities when required.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Experience providing technical support in a complex operational or mission-critical environment.
- Experience supporting Linux-based systems, including embedded environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualisation technologies.
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, switches, firewalls and TCP/IP environments.
- Experience with train control systems, signalling, networking or field equipment within rail environments will be highly regarded.
- Experience with FRACAS, failure attribution analysis and root cause investigations.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and customer engagement skills.
