Job Title: Software Engineer I
Location: Painted Post, NY 14870: ZV Building (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Potential to Extend)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8 AM - 5 PM
Description:
Education: BS in Software Engineering or related technical degree
Minimum Experience: 0-3 years
Interview Process:

• Initial 30 minute screen with hiring manager via teams
• Panel interview (90 minutes) were candidate may be asked to do a presentation.

Manager is open to candidates willing to relocate at their own expense
Top requirements:
​Bachelors required. New grads are welcome as long as the resume reflect experience with:

• A mix of C#, Python, C , Java, MATLAB, Web Services, Micro Services
• Familiarity with Javascript, TypeScript, Vue, React, Angular or similar web frameworks
• Experience in Version Control, e.g.: Git/GitLab/SubVersion/Visual SourceSafe
• This is an entry level role.

Scope of the Position:

• Develop high-quality software systems for measurement, inspection, gauging, data collection, machine vision, image processing, machine learning and reporting systems in support of a variety of Corning divisions.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and debug high-quality software systems supporting early stage and mature, high-volume manufacturing activities.
• Interface sensors, motion, lighting, cameras and implement advanced logic operating on the data from them.
• Resolve problems with software and manage improvements and enhancements.
• Execute Software Development practices to ensure fast and efficient project completion.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field; candidates with a Master's degree or higher are encouraged to apply.
• 0-3 years' experience in development technical, multi-discipline engineering team
• Object Oriented software analysis and design
• A mix of C#, Python, C , Java, MATLAB, Web Services, Micro Services
• Familiarity with Javascript, TypeScript, Vue, React, Angular or similar web frameworks
• Experience in Version Control, e.g.: Git/GitLab/SubVersion/Visual SourceSafe
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle processes & tools.
• Strong problem-solving, test and QA skills.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with relational databases and data analysis.
• Experience in design, development, and maintenance of enterprise applications
• Technical experience with inter-process communications tools and techniques
• Basic understanding of control systems

• Capability to create and present material to various levels of the organization.

Travel Requirements:

• 0-25% Domestic depending upon specific project assignments.

Work Schedule:

• Typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support projects.
