Change Manager – Payments Technology

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Change Manager to support technology initiatives within a Payments / Banking environment. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, governing, and delivering technology changes and deployments that require collaboration across multiple application, infrastructure, QA, operations, and business teams.

The Change Manager will provide end-to-end visibility into delivery health, manage risks and dependencies, ensure adherence to change and release standards, and coordinate production deployments in a complex enterprise technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage delivery of defined technology deliverables involving multiple teams.
  • Communicate work objectives, delivery expectations, milestones, dependencies, and risks to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate delivery activities and dependencies across Application Development, Infrastructure, QA, Operations, and Business teams.
  • Facilitate delivery and governance routines, including:
  • Project and deployment kick-offs
  • Status reviews
  • Stakeholder meetings
  • Change-control meetings
  • Tollgates
  • Deployment reviews
  • Governance meetings
  • Change Advisory Board (CAB) discussions
  • Provide end-to-end visibility into the health and status of technology deliverables.
  • Coordinate multiple deployments and competing priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations throughout the delivery and change lifecycle.
  • Evaluate deployment risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure technology changes comply with established change management, release management, and production deployment standards.
  • Review, approve, and govern production changes throughout the complete change lifecycle.
  • Ensure CRQs (Change Requests) are accurate, complete, properly documented, and compliant with governance standards.
  • Conduct Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) and track follow-up actions.
  • Support regulatory, mandatory, high-priority, and business-critical technology initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on change governance, controls, compliance, and deployment effectiveness.
  • Validate processes and controls to ensure audit readiness and adherence to enterprise standards.

Jira / Reporting

  • Hands-on experience with Jira, including:
  • Workflow management
  • Dashboards
  • Reporting
  • Metrics generation
  • Delivery tracking
  • Status monitoring
  • Develop and maintain governance dashboards, deployment metrics, and management reporting.
  • Prepare executive-level status reports and summaries highlighting:
  • Delivery health
  • Risks and issues
  • Deployment status
  • Dependencies
  • Key milestones
  • Change metrics
  • Use data and reporting to identify trends, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement.

Change & Release Management

  • Strong understanding of IT Change Management, Release Management, and Production Deployment processes.
  • Experience governing changes from initial submission through approval, implementation, validation, and closure.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Change Management principles and best practices.
  • Experience with production support, release coordination, deployment controls, and change governance.
  • Experience leading or participating in CAB meetings and deployment governance reviews.
  • Ability to assess change impact, implementation risk, business risk, and potential production issues.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, approvals, testing, implementation plans, validation, and rollback/back-out plans are in place.
  • Conduct post-production reviews and ensure lessons learned and corrective actions are captured.

Tools & Technology

  • Jira – workflow management, dashboards, reporting, and metrics.
  • Quality Center / ALM – working knowledge of application lifecycle and quality-management tools.
  • Microsoft Excel – advanced proficiency for data analysis, metrics, reporting, and tracking.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint – executive presentations, governance materials, and status reporting.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting and dashboard tools is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in IT Change Management and Release Management within a large enterprise technology organization.
  • Experience supporting production deployments and technology change governance.
  • Hands-on Jira experience, including workflows, dashboards, reporting, and metrics.
  • Experience reviewing and governing production changes / CRQs.
  • Experience conducting Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs).
  • Working knowledge of Quality Center / ALM tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Change Management principles.
  • Experience coordinating across Application Development, Infrastructure, QA, Operations, and Business teams.
  • Strong risk and issue management skills.
  • Experience leading CAB, governance, deployment, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Strong process improvement, control validation, compliance, and audit-readiness experience.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Payments / Banking Experience

  • Experience supporting Payments, Banking, Financial Services, or other highly regulated technology environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting business-critical, regulatory, mandatory, or high-volume technology initiatives.
  • Understanding of the importance of production stability, deployment controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance within payments technology.
  • Ability to coordinate complex technology changes involving multiple applications, platforms, infrastructure components, and business stakeholders.
