About the Company
Leonard Workforce Solutions is running a confidential search for a Database / Web Engineer supporting a defense and intelligence R&D client focused on digital signal processing (DSP), geolocation, and communications systems for the United States Defense and Intelligence Communities. This is a hands-on developer seat on a multidisciplinary R&D team of electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists. You will build software and cloud computing solutions to real national security problems, ship code to front-line customer facilities, and see direct mission feedback on the impact of your work.
About the Role
Core responsibilities include designing and implementing data systems with both web and database components, analyzing and maintaining existing databases and web interfaces, and adding new features to operational systems. You will implement signal processing and other algorithms in efficient software, test with real data, deliver applications to front-line customer facilities, and build effective user interfaces and data visualization tools. Personnel work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment, and O&M (Operations and Maintenance). Self-starters who can work unsupervised with minimal direction will thrive.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing data systems with both web and database components
- Analyzing and maintaining existing databases and web interfaces
- Adding new features to operational systems
- Implementing signal processing and other algorithms in efficient software
- Testing with real data
- Delivering applications to front-line customer facilities
- Building effective user interfaces and data visualization tools
- Working across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment, and O&M
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Required Skills
- Proficient in modern software engineering practices for testability and readability
- Proficient in C++ and Python in Linux environments
- Proficient in SQL and/or NoSQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML
- Demonstrated ability to design software systems that meet functionality, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI (Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information) security clearance
- US Citizenship
Preferred Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in a software engineering related discipline
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks including Vue, React, or Angular
- DevOps and Cloud computing experience (GitLab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)
- Agile development processes
- Current TS/SCI clearance
Pay range and compensation package
$85,000 to $113,000 base salary (final offer set based on experience, location, and contractual requirements). The client is employee owned. Benefits include 100% employer paid premiums for family medical and dental, employee life, short-term disability, and long-term disability. Immediate participation and vesting in the ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) and 401(k). Employer ESOP contributions, 401(k) match, and discretionary employer contributions. 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
