Role: Development Engineer
Job Type: Contract (12 Months)
PayScale: £46/Hourly / Inside IR35
Location: Stafford
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicants must be flexible as the role involves working on a wide variety of projects within a small multi skilled team.
- Diesel Engine Performance evaluation and understanding of engine health
- Mechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems
- Defining and managing component validation plans
- Generation of test cycles, instrumentation requirements, boundary conditions and acceptance criteria
- Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity
- Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
- Technical reporting
- Conducting all work operating procedures and local work methods to meet compliance with quality standards
- Support to the design function is required through FMEA attendance
- The role will require collaboration with all platform teams based at the Stafford facility
- Occasional overseas travel may be necessary as required by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in product validation, verification, testing, or development engineering.
- Experience creating validation plans, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies. E.g. 8D, DMAIC/DEMDI/6σ, etc
- Experience interpreting and analysing test data.
- Understanding of engineering validation and verification processes.
- Experience validating product performance against Product or Technical Objectives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- High standard of written technical reporting
- Diesel engine component validation experience
- Working knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems such as cooling, lubrication, air etc…
Desirable:
- Experience in diesel engines, power systems, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or power generation products.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, Plato, E1NS, Farevo, or equivalent engineering tools.
- Experience with high-speed data acquisition and instrumentation systems.
- Knowledge of CAN-based data acquisition tools such as CANape or similar platforms.
- Experience conducting durability, performance, emissions, vibration, or robustness testing.
