Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of an individual Novvia operating company. This role has full accountability for the organization's operational execution, and strategic alignment with Novvia's corporate objectives.

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President of Operations, the General Manager develops and executes business strategies that drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. The General Manager serves as the senior leader for the local organization and is responsible for fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring alignment with Novvia's values, goals, and strategic initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the overall operations and performance of the organization, ensuring achievement of financial, operational, and strategic objectives.

• Develop and execute both short-term and long-term business plans that support growth, operational efficiency, and margin improvement.

• Align local business strategies and priorities with Novvia's corporate vision, strategic initiatives, and operational standards.

• Evaluate organizational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and other business metrics, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

• In collaboration with the sales team, identify market opportunities, emerging industry trends, and competitive threats to support sustainable growth and market expansion.


Revenue Growth & Commercial Leadership

• Partner with sales leadership to establish sales objectives, monitor performance, and improve market penetration.

• Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, market conditions, and competitive dynamics.


Financial & Operational Management

• Develop, manage, and administer annual operating and capital budgets.

• Ensure financial objectives are met while maintaining operational efficiency and service excellence.

• Lead initiatives focused on cost containment, productivity improvement, margin expansion, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Oversee resource allocation, operational planning, and performance management across all functional areas.


Leadership& Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop the organization's leadership team to achieve business objectives and strengthen succession readiness.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement.

• Communicate organizational goals and priorities in a manner that enables employees to understand their contributions to overall success.

• Build and maintain a workplace culture that supports employee development, retention, and high performance.

• Provide timely feedback, performance coaching, and development opportunities for leaders throughout the organization.


Corporate Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives

• Partner effectively with corporate functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Procurement, Operations, and Supply Chain.

• Lead the implementation of corporate initiatives designed to improve consistency, efficiency, scalability, and business performance.

• Support acquisition activities, including market assessments, due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition execution, as needed.

• Ensure successful adoption of corporate systems, processes, and operational best practices.

External Representation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field required.

• MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including senior management responsibility within manufacturing, distribution, packaging, or a related industry.

• Demonstrated success managing a operational P&L and leading multi-functional business operations.

• Strong analytical, financial, and operational management capabilities.

• Exceptional leadership, team development, and organizational effectiveness skills.

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of an organization.

• Strong negotiation, change management, and decision-making skills.

• Willingness to travel as needed and work extended hours when business demands require.
