Your Responsibilities
As an Embedded Software Engineer for John Deere Tractor Software Teams located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will develop software within the drive strategy team working on innovative, high visibility projects transforming agriculture. Our team is committed to designing innovative solutions that unlock customer value through balancing overall efficiency with productivity to meet customer needs. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to every aspect of the product development lifecycle. You will
- Develop embedded software in MATLAB Simulink and C as part of a global team executing drive strategy.
- Be responsible for testing software in multiple environments HIL, SIL, and VIL.
- Be responsible for collaborating with system engineers to design software that meets customer needs.
- Be responsible for tuning vehicle performance to achieve efficiency and productivity goals.
- Analyze issues and drive for resolution of issues found during lab and field testing
- Experience with software product development through practical work experiences, relevant internships or academic experience
- Demonstrated exposure to developing embedded applications using MATLAB Simulink and C.
- Demonstrated exposure to working on and troubleshooting control systems.
- Demonstrated technical problem solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working in a global team environment.
- Experienced with and comfortable with using large AG equipment
- Strong passion for embedded engineering, learning new technologies, experimentation.
- Experience in Model Based Software Design (MBSD) and/or system simulation.
- Experience in automotive communication protocols such as J1939 and ISO 11783 for CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Experience relating to the design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
- Experience with continuous integration development and automated build tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with equivalent experience
