The successful candidate will support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Dell servers, switches, and hardware, as well as Cisco networking technologies. This role provides an opportunity to develop skills in network administration, systems support, and infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Dell servers, workstations, switches, and related hardware.
- Assist with administration and troubleshooting of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
- Perform basic network configuration, including VLANs, trunking, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and routing.
- Monitor network and server performance and investigate connectivity or system issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware, network, and operating-system problems and escalate complex issues.
- Assist with firmware, software, and security updates for Dell and Cisco equipment.
- Support user connectivity, network access, and endpoint-related issues.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, equipment inventories, configurations, and technical documentation.
- Assist with backups, system recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Follow IT security policies, change-management procedures, and infrastructure standards.
- Work with senior network and systems administrators on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Provide technical support through a ticketing system and document resolutions.
- Clearance: DOD Top Secret or DOE Q
- 1–2 years of experience in IT, network administration, systems administration, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and IOS.
- Familiarity with Dell PowerEdge servers, Dell networking equipment, and enterprise hardware.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, and basic routing and switching.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems and common hardware issues.
- Ability to use network troubleshooting tools such as ping, tracert/traceroute, nslookup, and Wireshark.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate technical issues.
- Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge.
- Dell or Dell EMC certification/experience.
- CompTIA Network+, A+, or Server+ certification.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Knowledge of basic cybersecurity and network-security practices.
