System Administrator

The successful candidate will support and administer an evolving infrastructure environment built primarily on Linux, Cisco Systems, and enterprise storage platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Linux servers, Cisco-based infrastructure, NetApp storage, and potentially Dell storage environments.
Linux Systems Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and operating systems.
- Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions.
- Manage system services, users, groups, permissions, filesystems, packages, and processes.
- Perform operating system patching, upgrades, hardening, and lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application, networking, and storage-related issues.
- Manage scheduled jobs, system services, logging, and resource utilization.
- Support virtualization, clustering, high availability, or containerized environments as applicable.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Administer and support NetApp storage systems, including storage provisioning, volumes, aggregates, snapshots, replication, and capacity management.
- Support NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, or other storage protocols as applicable.
- Monitor storage performance, utilization, availability, and growth.
- Assist with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
- Support data migration and storage consolidation initiatives.
- Evaluate, implement, and support Dell storage platforms as the environment evolves.
- Troubleshoot storage connectivity, permissions, performance, and availability issues.
- Maintain storage documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Clearance: DOD Top Secret or DOE Q
- 5 or more years of experience administering Linux systems in an enterprise or production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Linux server troubleshooting, patching, security, and performance management.
- Experience administering or supporting Cisco infrastructure.
- Experience with NetApp storage administration or enterprise storage operations.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, NFS, SMB, VLANs, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience with system monitoring, log analysis, backup, and recovery processes.
- Ability to write or maintain Bash or similar administrative scripts.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across infrastructure, security, application, and support teams.
