Role Description:
UASPO requires the support of a PLM Cyber Engineering subject matter expert to support both the AUSLIST program and ASCA Precision Loitering Munitions (PLM) missions.
Key responsibilities:
The PLM Cyber Engineer will be responsible for supporting ASCA (in particular the Engineering Leads for Talon Strike and Black Thorn) in the conduct and coordination of engineering activities to support the introduction into service of the Talon Stike and Black Thorn PLMs. This will include reviewing and developing the certifications plans related to cyber testing and certification. The PLM Cyber Engineer will support ASCA and A6020 in compiling verification evidence to support cyber certification.
The PLM Cyber Engineer will support ASCA by representing UASPO in day to day dealings with the contractor to ensure that the Commonwealth receives the best value for money in UASPO supported acquisition activities undertaken by ASCA. This may include representing UASPO in cyber related working groups and Mandated System Reviews (SRR, PDR, DDR and TRR) for both Talon Strike and Black Thorn.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in either Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or equivalent extensive industry experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to simplify complex technical information and communicate findings clearly to a range of audiences.
Experience in
- Network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation)
- System hardening (Windows, Linux, embedded platforms)
- Secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC)
- Cryptography and key management
- Incident detection and response
- Familiarity with defence frameworks such as NIST 800-53, STIGs etc
Location: Brisbane or Canberra
Hours: 80hr per fortnight, as agreed with client.
