Essential Functions
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programming.
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing development and service issues.
- Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- First and foremost, developing software our users need.
- Collaborate with team to brainstorm and create new products.
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least three years of professional C++ development experience.
- Hands-on development experience with Visual C++ and MFC.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design, multithreading, memory management, and native application debugging.
- Experience implementing or troubleshooting TLS-secured communications, custom messaging protocols, and client-server applications.
- Experience developing complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems operating in 24/7 production environments.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices throughout the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, peer reviews, source control, build processes, testing, release management, and production support.
- Ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies and work effectively within an established legacy codebase.
- Experience developing or maintaining embedded applications running on Windows CE.
- Experience with ATL and other legacy Microsoft development technologies.
- Experience integrating applications with hardware devices, peripherals, or vendor-provided SDKs and APIs.
- Experience with resource-constrained embedded systems.
- Experience with ATM applications, financial transaction processing, ATM host protocols, or payment processors.
- Familiarity with software used in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment
- Ability to communicate and exchange information
- Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data
- Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)
- Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals
- May be required to work extended hours for special business needs
- May be required to travel at least 15% of time based on business needs.
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
- Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
- The employee may be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
