Who We Are

We don’t just develop embedded software — we engineer intelligence into products. The Embedded Competence Center at NTT DATA Romania brings together experts in embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware–software integration, delivering robust and high-performance solutions for complex, safety-critical environments. With strong expertise in C/C++, AUTOSAR, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols, we design scalable embedded architectures, integrate software seamlessly with hardware, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Across the industries we support — from Automotive and Industrial Automation to Smart Devices and IoT — we transform reliable embedded technology into a foundation for innovative, dependable products.

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join an automotive software development project focused on QNX/Linux, NVIDIA and Automotive Ethernet. The role covers system and software development activities, from requirements and architecture to implementation, integration, debugging and testing, in a complex automotive embedded environment based on QNX/Linux, NVIDIA and Automotive Ethernet.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Requirements elicitation, system/software requirements analysis and architectural design.
  • Embedded software development, integration, testing, issue analysis and bug fixing.
  • QNX BSP configuration and device driver development.
  • Work with build environments, kernel-level components and low-level system functionality.
  • Development and integration in the following areas:
    • Power & Thermal Management
    • Startup Sequence & Performance
    • Process/Thread Monitoring
    • Diagnostics – UDS, DoIP and System Logging
    • Time management
    • Automotive Ethernet – switch configuration, PHY/MAC configuration, Ethernet stack integration and VLANs
  • Investigation and resolution of complex software issues in multi-component / multi-VM environments.
  • Management and tracking of development activities and defects in Jira.
  • Contribution to metrics, technical documentation and change-management reporting.
  • Collaboration with architects, requirements engineers, integrators, developers and testers in an Agile/SAFe environment.

What You'll Bring Along

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering field.
  • Previous experience with NVIDIA DRIVE / NVIDIA Thor platforms.
  • Experience with embedded performance analysis, boot-time optimization, power management and thermal management.
  • Automotive flashing procedures using DoIP.
  • Strong C/C++ development experience in embedded systems.
  • Advanced experience with Linux and/or QNX, ideally including BSP, kernel and driver development.
  • Strong automotive embedded software background.
  • Experience with Automotive Ethernet and communication protocols: TCP/IP / UDP, SOME/IP, DoIP, UDS
  • Experience with Classic and/or Adaptive AUTOSAR.
  • Experience debugging complex embedded systems using tools such as Lauterbach or iSystem.
  • Knowledge of CANoe and automotive simulation/debugging environments.
  • Scripting experience with Python and Bash.
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence and requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS.
  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) development processes.
  • Experience with PCIe and complex multi-SoC or multi-VM architectures.
  • Knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity standards: ISO 26262 & ISO/SAE 21434
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable working across software architecture, low-level development and system integration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • High adaptability in a complex automotive development environment.
