Job Duties

Performs highly complex inventory and retail sales work in a unit commissary.

Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; displaying and selling merchandise; ensuring compliance with established security requirements, loss prevention controls, and procedures; and providing guidance to others.

Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

  • You have experience managing inventory, receiving, and selling products.
  • You can maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • You have the ability to learn commissary operations, policies, procedures, and security requirements.
  • You are organized, dependable, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a correctional environment.
  • You communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and incarcerated individuals.
  • You can use inventory, financial, and computer systems to track transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • You have the ability to follow established procedures for receiving, selling, delivering and overall accounting for inventory.
