What is the Opportunity?
We are looking for a skilled rigger who can safely raise, position, align, and secure steel members to build complete structures and frameworks. The ideal candidate works effectively as part of a crew, uses hoisting equipment and hand tools to guide and fit steel into place, and can read and interpret drawings to ensure precise alignment and installation. This role requires physical capability, attention to safety, and flexibility to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions as projects progress.
What You'll Do Here
- Raise, position, and connect girders, columns, and other structural steel members to form completed structures or frameworks.
- Set up and assist with hoisting equipment to safely lift and place structural steel members.
- Attach steel members to hoisting devices using chains, cables, or ropes and guide loads using tag lines.
- Signal crane or hoist operators to lift, move, and position steel members safely and accurately.
- Pull, push, pry, and align steel members into position using hand tools, turnbuckles, jacks, and crowbars.
- Align bolt and rivet holes using drift pins or tools to ensure proper fit with previously placed members.
- Verify vertical and horizontal alignment using levels and plumb bobs.
- Bolt members temporarily or permanently to secure steel until final welding, bolting, or riveting is completed.
- Cut, weld, or modify steel members as required using oxyacetylene and welding equipment.
- Perform rod‑busting and foundation erection tasks as required by the project scope.
- Work safely in demanding environments, including at heights, in confined spaces, and while wearing respiratory protection when required.
- Transition between duties as project size and work organization change throughout the project lifecycle.
We are committed to adhering to the objectives and requirements outlined in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner, through the implementation of the requirements of the EEOC and its applicable regulations. Appropriate accommodation under the EEOC will be provided upon request throughout the interview and hiring process.
