Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Linux system Administrator to be part of the global Engineering-IT organization. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years’ experience in managing Linux environment in large enterprise which includes 2-3 years’ experience in managing Design Management Infrastructure for Perforce or similar tools. This role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Linux System Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux OS & application (Red Hat and Ubuntu) in a physical and virtual environment
- Perform system monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Manage enterprise identity services and access controls.
- Support physical, virtual, and AWS-based Linux environments used for semiconductor design
- Manage Perforce – P4/Methodics hosting infrastructure, performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting.
- Manage core infrastructure services such as DNS, LDAP, NFS, and web/application servers.
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and security.
- Implement security best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support audits, compliance activities, firewall management, and access reviews.
- Monitor infrastructure health and respond to system issues and outages.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain operational documentation and procedures.
- Develop tools and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Support infrastructure automation, configuration management, and DevOps initiatives.
- Work closely with engineering, network, security, cloud, and application teams.
- Provide technical support and knowledge sharing across the IT organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
- Experience managing enterprise Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
- Experience supporting virtualized environments such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
- Experience in Design Management application management
- Proficiency in scripting (shell/ python) and advanced Linux command-line administration.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, and NTP.
- Experience with configuring monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience working in semiconductors, EDA, or high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of NetApp storage and storage protocols like NFS/SAN/iSCSI
- Conversant with different database platforms used in Design Management environment
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Knowledge of container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Training / Certification in RHEL, Perforce technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Experience with project management and using AI tools to improve productivity is a plus.
