Sanford, a leading provider of seafood in New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Applications Support Analyst to join our IT team based in our Auckland head office in stunning Wynyard Quarter.

Reporting to the IS Applications Manager, this is a senior hands-on role focused on ensuring the smooth operation, support and continuous improvement of Sanford’s diverse business application landscape. Working across a mix of legacy and modern cloud-based platforms, you’ll have a particular focus on our ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), supporting systems that are critical to our day-to-day operations.

Alongside resolving complex application issues, you’ll play an important role in system enhancements, testing and deployments, while sharing your knowledge and mentoring other members of the Applications Support team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting across business-critical applications, with a particular focus on ERP and MES systems.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and complex system issues, managing and prioritising support tickets through ServiceDesk+.
  • Perform application administration, including configuration, security roles, user management and master data such as product information, BOMs and production routes.
  • Support system changes, upgrades, patches and deployments, including testing, UAT and task management through Azure DevOps.
  • Work closely with business users, internal IT teams and external vendors to identify root causes, resolve issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Identify and contribute to system and process improvements while maintaining clear, accurate support and system documentation.
  • Mentor and support other team members, sharing technical knowledge and promoting consistent support practices.

About You:

We’re looking for an experienced Applications Support professional who enjoys getting under the hood of business systems and understanding how they work. Your background will be in supporting and improving business applications rather than traditional IT infrastructure support, and you’ll be comfortable moving between troubleshooting immediate issues and looking for opportunities to make systems and processes work better.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll be someone others can turn to when working through more complex problems. You don’t need to be a formal people leader, but you’ll enjoy sharing your knowledge, mentoring others and helping build capability across the team.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience, with proven experience in application support, systems administration or a similar business systems role.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems, with exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with experience across application administration, configuration, testing, upgrades and deployments.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the confidence to take ownership, work independently and manage competing demands.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams and mentor others.
  • A curious, proactive and improvement-focused mindset. Experience within manufacturing, food processing or another operational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Sanford?

This is an opportunity to work across a varied and business-critical application environment where your expertise will have a genuine impact. You’ll have exposure to a broad range of systems and stakeholders, with the opportunity to solve complex problems, contribute to system improvements and help build capability within the wider Applications Support team. Sanford offers a discount on seafood products along with a supportive way of working to ensure you are leading a happy, healthy, and balanced lifestyle.

You may be subject to pre-employment checks that include a Ministry of Justice check, drug and alcohol screening and credit checks.
