Division Overview

The Forensic Technology & Data Analytics Division (FTDA) provides specialist support to all divisions within the CCPC, with a particular focus on the Enforcement Divisions. The Division delivers expertise in Digital Forensics, eDiscovery, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), and Data Analytics, enabling investigations through the collection, preservation, analysis, and interpretation of digital and data-driven evidence. To support these functions, the Division operates and maintains its own dedicated ICT infrastructure, including virtual servers, network switches, forensic workstations, and associated systems and platforms.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Forensic Technology and Data Analytics (FTDA) team, comprising a Director, two Deputy Directors, one Data Engineer and one FTDA Senior Analyst.

Role Purpose

The Digital Infrastructure Specialist supports the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of FTDA-specific infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and capable of supporting forensic and investigative activities.

This is a specialist FTDA role where all infrastructure work is driven by investigative requirements. The role is distinct from the central ICT function, however collaboration with ICT colleagues will occur where responsibilities overlap, such as provision of FTDA lab servers to the broader organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialised technical environment supporting complex investigations while developing expertise in areas such as digital forensics and eDiscovery.

The Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will play a key role within the FTDA team and will have a proven ability to work to statutory deadlines while efficiently managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines. They will have demonstrable experience of building and managing a wide range of internal stakeholder relationships. They will be self-driven with experience of contributing effectively to the strategic direction of the unit. In addition, they will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operation and monitoring of FTDA infrastructure systems.
  • Assist with the administration of virtualisation platforms (including Proxmox VE or equivalent).
  • Support the management of Windows and Linux servers, storage, backup and disaster recovery environments.
  • Maintain secure environments for sensitive and evidential data.
  • Support system updates, patching, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor systems and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Support backup and recovery processes (e.g. Proxmox Backup Server).
  • Support cybersecurity monitoring and the implementation of controls.
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
  • Contribute to FTDA infrastructure projects aligned with enforcement needs.
  • Assist in requirements gathering and the delivery of technical solutions.
  • Support procurement activities and vendor engagement.
  • Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with FTDA, enforcement teams, and ICT where required.
