Role: Lead Platform Engineer
Location: Dublin(Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer / Platform Engineer to build, automate, and support cloud platforms powering critical enterprise applications and services. This is a hands-on role focused on cloud infrastructure, platform automation, Managed File Transfer (MFT), CI/CD, and operational excellence across modern distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and/or Azure.
- Operate enterprise Managed File Transfer platforms, including IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator and Connect.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop automation for partner onboarding, certificate management, file routing, and secure file exchange.
- Support secure B2B connectivity using SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, TLS, PGP, encryption, and digital certificates.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability to maintain platform reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, MFT, connectivity, and production issues.
- Support vulnerability remediation, platform upgrades, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS/Azure, IBM Sterling, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling SFG, SBI, Connect, or similar enterprise MFT platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD, shell scripting, and configuration management.
- Strong understanding of secure file transfer protocols, certificates, encryption, and key management.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, networking, and secure engineering practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed production environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable
- Java, Spring Boot, and REST API experience.
- Oracle and/or PostgreSQL knowledge.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise MFT/B2B integration platforms.
- Understanding of highly available, resilient architectures and modern DevOps/SDLC practices.
