POSITION OVERVIEW: The Cost Analyst will support the tracking, management, and analysis of costs for automotive projects, with a focus on battery system assembly, chassis assembly, and related commodities. This role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Sales teams to ensure that all cost drivers—such as labor, materials, logistics, customs, and customer contracts—are accurately captured and optimized.
You will assist in preparing financial reports, supporting RFQs, and conducting scenario and stress test analyses to evaluate the impact of cost fluctuations. The role also includes supporting financial evaluations such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and payback analysis to assess project viability and profitability.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:
- Track, analyze, and report project costs including materials, labor, logistics, and overhead expenses.
- Manage project budgets and cost estimates while monitoring cost performance and variance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Sales, and Purchasing teams to control costs, evaluate design changes, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support RFQs and pricing activities by developing cost models and ensuring competitive, profitable quotations.
- Support the preparation of cost breakdowns for RFQs and customer proposals.
- Typical re Assist in tracking and analyzing project costs across multiple components and commodities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate cost inputs.
- Conduct financial and profitability analyses (DCF, NPV, IRR, payback) and provide management reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess cost risks and opportunities.
- Help prepare financial models and profitability assessments for new and ongoing projects.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly cost reporting and variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost databases and documentation.
- 4–8 years of experience in cost analysis, financial planning, or accounting.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP or cost management systems is a plus.
- Interest in financial modeling and project profitability analysis.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Korean language proficiency is a plus.
- Be a team player.
- Have great attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be reliable (with reliable mode of transportation.)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in cost analysis, financial planning, or accounting.
- Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.
- A typical work week is 45 hours/week.
- Working hours for employees are flexible with a typical day starting 7am- 9am M-F.
