Specialist, Software Development Engineering
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, and support enterprise Linux server infrastructure. The role involves operating system administration, patch management, vulnerability remediation, automation, troubleshooting, and ensuring platform stability, security, and compliance across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Perform OS vulnerability remediation in accordance with organizational security policies.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Investigate and resolve Linux operating system incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
- Support server provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management activities.
- Implement and maintain automation using Shell Scripting, Ansible, and other configuration management tools.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, sudo access, and authentication integrations.
- Support storage, file systems, LVM, NFS, and SAN-related activities.
- Troubleshoot server, application, network, and performance-related issues.
- Participate in major incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem management activities.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with application, database, network, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to maintain platform stability.
- Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
- Strong administration experience in Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred).
- Experience with Linux patching, kernel updates, and OS upgrades.
- Knowledge of Shell Scripting (Bash) and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Understanding of system services, processes, networking, and performance tuning.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and log analysis.
- Knowledge of security hardening and vulnerability remediation processes.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE certification.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with infrastructure automation and self-healing solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Incident and problem management expertise.
- Automation mindset and continuous improvement focus.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment when required.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
