US Accountant – NetSuite

This role requires someone who can independently analyze and solve practical accounting scenarios, especially transactions involving advance payments, deferred revenue, deferred expenses, prepaid expenses, and amortization across financial periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for US-based clients/entities.
- Work hands-on with Oracle NetSuite ERP for accounting transactions and reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, deferred expenses, and other adjusting entries.
- Handle accounting for customer payments received in advance and recognize revenue appropriately based on the service delivery period.
- Manage revenue recognition and ensure appropriate accounting treatment across month-end and financial year-end periods.
- Handle prepaid and deferred expenses and recognize expenses accurately over the relevant accounting periods.
- Manage asset amortization and lease amortization entries and schedules.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and review Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, General Ledger, and supporting schedules.
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and independently recommend and implement accounting corrections.
- Ensure accounting treatment is aligned with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Work closely with US-based finance teams and stakeholders.
- 5+ years of overall accounting experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of US Accounting experience.
- Minimum 1+ year of hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite.

- Accruals
- Journal Entries
- General Ledger
- Month-End & Year-End Close
- Account Reconciliations
- Financial Reporting
- Experience with Asset Amortization and Lease Amortization.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Ability to independently solve complex accounting and reconciliation issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with US stakeholders.
- US CPA / CPA qualification is a strong advantage.
- Experience working directly with US-based clients or finance teams.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting.
- Experience in an R2R, GL, or end-to-end accounting environment.
