Business Intelligence Manager

Key Responsibility

1. Lead multiple BI initiatives end-to-end, managing scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, intake, prioritisation, backlog grooming, and sprint/release planning.
2. Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Azure Databricks, and architect solutions across Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Azure DevOps CI/CD.
3. Design Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards; define standards for DAX, data models, UX, RLS, deployment pipelines, workspace governance, and licensing.
4. Develop Python-based transformations, automation workflows, data quality frameworks, reconciliation, and pipeline testing while promoting Git, code review, unit testing, and documentation.
5. Work directly with business stakeholders to gather and challenge requirements, translate needs into structured delivery roadmaps, and communicate status, risks, and decisions in Japanese and English.
6. Define and enforce BI technical standards, testing strategy, UAT coordination, support model, incident triage, SLA definitions, and on-call processes.

Must-Have

• Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business/Data Analytics, or a related field

• Business-level proficiency in English for technical discussions, documentation, and workshops

• Hands-on Azure experience: Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Azure DevOps

• Advanced Power BI skills: DAX, Power Query (M), semantic modelling, deployment pipelines, RLS, and Fabric/Premium

• Python for data transformation, automation, data quality, and scripting

• Advanced SQL, data warehousing, dimensional modelling, medallion/data vault architecture, and performance optimisation

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a complex global organisation

• Strong communication, business partnership, mentoring, and code-review capabilities

• Comfortable structuring ambiguous requirements and driving delivery to clarity

Others

• Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or high-tech industry analytics

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, and Real-Time Analytics

• Exposure to dbt or a similar analytics engineering framework

• Azure certifications such as DP-600, DP-203, AZ-900, or equivalent

• Infrastructure-as-code familiarity, such as Terraform or Bicep

• Business-level proficiency in Japanese for technical discussions, documentation, and workshops
