Senior Software Engineer
Indexed description
We're partnering with a leading client to find a Sr. Software Engineer to join their team. This role sits at the center of how their applications, dashboards, and cloud infrastructure get built and maintained, with real influence over technical direction rather than just ticket execution. You'll work across the full stack, from database to cloud, on systems that the business actually runs on. If you like owning problems end to end and mentoring along the way, this is built for you.
What You'll Own
- Lead development and integration of business-critical applications across the technical infrastructure, shaping how new and existing systems come together.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and structure SQL databases that turn raw data into decisions leadership can act on.
- Design and deliver full-stack applications, APIs, and workflow automations that streamline day-to-day business processes.
- Take on cloud development work on AWS (Amazon Web Services), including services like Lambda, Glue, SNS, and SQS, as new systems come online.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues end-to-end and drive them to resolution.
- Mentor junior developers and help shape Agile ceremonies and sprint planning as a technical voice on the team.
What You Bring
Must-have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 6 to 10 years of experience in application development, cloud computing, and enterprise software architecture.
- Hands-on proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI, Java, .NET, and AWS.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices, cloud automation, CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery) pipelines, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with Agile methodology and the full software development lifecycle, including Scrum ceremonies.
Nice-to-have:
- Certification in AWS, Microsoft Power BI, Salesforce, or IT project management (PMP, Agile, SAFe), or DevOps methodologies.
- Exposure to SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) operations, AWS Glue, Lambda, SNS, and SQS.
- Familiarity with ERP (enterprise resource planning) integration and compliance frameworks such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
What We Offer
- Onsite contract role with a well-established, high-level organization.
- Direct exposure to enterprise-scale application, cloud, and BI (business intelligence) initiatives.
- A collaborative Agile team environment with real ownership over technical decisions.
- Opportunity to mentor and be mentored within a seasoned development team.
About the Team
This role sits inside an established enterprise IT organization that leans on Agile teams to keep its applications, dashboards, and cloud infrastructure running reliably. You'll work closely with a Business Systems Analyst and cross-functional stakeholders, with genuine room to shape architecture decisions rather than execute someone else's spec.
