The ITM I for the Data Analytics & Visualization Section serves as the technical and managerial lead for a team of data analysts, data engineers, and other technical staff who support department-wide analytical needs. This position is responsible for managing the development of reports, analytic datasets, statistical models, dashboards, automated reporting pipelines, and technical documentation that enable data-driven decision-making across tax programs and operational units. The Information Management Section Manager provides direction on analytic methodologies, coding standards, data quality, and project management to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable insights.
Additionally, this position collaborates with internal customers to define analytic requirements, prioritize incoming requests, and align workload with strategic goals. The position supports development and maintenance of the department’s analytical infrastructure by contributing to software development projects, facilitating adoption of modern tools, and coordinating integration of analytic outputs into enterprise systems.

- Experience leading data analysts, data engineers, and other technical staff who develop analytical products, data reports, and visualizations
- Experience leading design, development, and support for data reports, dashboards, and visualizations using modern data visualization technologies and best practices
- Experience leading testing, debugging, validation, and quality-control processes for reporting and analytic products to ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility
- Experience collaborating with information technology teams to integrate analytic outputs into software applications, enterprise systems, or cloud platforms
- Experience prioritizing competing priorities, manage deadlines, and align staff resources with organizational objectives
- Experience communicating complex analytical concepts, methodologies, and findings to audiences with varying degrees of technical understanding
- Experience mentoring staff, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional development in a technical or analytical environment
- Knowledge of Python, Structured Query Language, coding standards, peer review practices, and version control workflows
- Knowledge of data governance principles, including documentation standards, metadata management, and change-control processes
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, evaluate options, and recommend actionable solutions
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with program partners, stakeholders, and executive leadership
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards
- Commitment to continuous improvement, including adoption of modern analytics tools, optimization of workflows, and advancement of team capabilities
