Position Overview
The position is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial stewardship of One Click Group. The role operates with broad financial responsibilities, excluding investor relations, and is a key adviser to the Managing Director and senior leadership team on reporting, financial strategy, performance, risk and capital allocation.
The General Manager of Finance leads the Group finance function and is accountable for the integrity of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and treasury, tax and statutory compliance, financial controls, audit readiness, commercial analysis and the continued development of scalable finance systems and processes.
You will combine strong technical accounting capability with commercial judgement and strategic thinking. You will translate financial information into clear business insights, support sound decision-making across the Group and ensure the finance function provides the governance, discipline and forward visibility required to support One Click Group as it grows.
Responsibilities:
Team
- Lead, coach and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, commercial curiosity and continuous improvement.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs and standards for the finance function and ensure responsibilities, controls and reporting obligations are consistently delivered.
- Partner closely with the Managing Director, Board, senior leaders and operational teams to ensure financial considerations are embedded in strategic and day-to-day decision-making.
- Oversee corporate functions within the business including office, admin and human resource administration.
Tasks
- Own the Group financial strategy and planning process, providing advice to the Managing Director and senior leadership team on business performance, priorities, investment decisions and sustainable growth.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, including revenue, operating expenditure, headcount, cash flow and capital requirements, and ensure forecasts are actively used to manage the business.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting, including consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, KPI reporting, variance analysis and forward-looking commentary.
- Prepare high-quality financial and performance reporting for the Managing Director, Board and relevant Board committees, clearly explaining results, risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
- Manage cash flow, banking, treasury and working capital, including short- and medium-term liquidity forecasting and recommendations on the efficient allocation of capital.
- Oversee Group tax compliance and tax governance, including income tax, BAS, payroll tax and superannuation obligations, and coordinate with internal or external tax advisers where specialist advice is required.
- Lead the annual external audit and any other financial assurance processes, ensuring the Group is audit-ready and that issues are addressed early, promptly and sustainably.
- Ensure financial reporting and accounting treatments comply with applicable Australian Accounting Standards, Corporations Act requirements and other relevant statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Provide commercial and financial analysis for new products, pricing, partnerships, major contracts and strategic initiatives, including business cases, scenario analysis and post-investment review.
- Own and continuously improve the Group finance systems, reporting tools and data flows, using automation and technology to improve accuracy, speed, scalability and management insight.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and governance frameworks that are proportionate to the Group’s size, risk profile and growth ambitions.
- Identify material financial, operational and commercial risks and work with leadership to implement practical mitigations, controls and contingency plans.
- Build strong relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisers, insurers and other professional service providers relevant to the Group finance function.
- Communicate financial performance, priorities and issues clearly through both formal and informal channels, making complex financial matters understandable to non-finance stakeholders.
Skill Level
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, with CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
- Have substantial senior finance experience, ideally including Financial Controller, Head of Finance or CFO-level responsibilities within a growing, technology-enabled, fintech, financial services or professional services business.
- Demonstrate strong technical accounting capability, including experience preparing statutory accounts, applying Australian Accounting Standards and managing audit and compliance requirements.
- Possess strong commercial judgement and financial modelling skills, with the ability to translate data into practical recommendations on performance, investment, pricing, cost management and growth.
- Have demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, management reporting and financial control in a multi-entity or group environment.
- Be an effective people leader who can build capability, set high standards and create a finance function that is responsive, pragmatic and trusted by the wider business.
- Communicate with confidence and clarity with executives, Board members and non-finance stakeholders, including the ability to constructively challenge assumptions and influence decisions.
- Demonstrate high levels of integrity, judgement, discretion and ownership, with an ability to balance strong governance and risk management with the commercial needs of a fast-moving business.
