We are looking for a Team Lead Data Analytics & Business Intelligence to lead our data team and drive the execution of our data strategy. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical involvement and reports directly to the Head of Data and Platforms. You will lead a team of four to five people (including external contributors) and work in a strongly cross-functional setup, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business - actively shaping how data-driven decision-making becomes the norm at our company.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Disciplinary and functional leadership of a team consisting of data analysts, a data scientist, and external developers.
- Data Strategy: Driving the ongoing development and execution of our data strategy - from a current-state assessment to a multi-year strategy.
- Translating business priorities into concrete, measurable analytics use cases and data-driven decision foundations.
- Driving the shift from descriptive to predictive and forward-looking analytics across the entire organization.
- Data Platform: Expanding and maintaining our data platform, built on Databricks as our central data warehouse, with data ingestion via Fivetran and transformation via dbt.
- Reporting & BI: Leading the development of our Power BI reporting landscape, including data models and KPI standardization.
- Data Integration: Connecting internal and external data sources into the platform, including SAP data (e.g. S/4HANA and modules such as Ariba or SuccessFactors), working closely with our Infrastructure team.
- Data Culture: Actively promoting a data-driven culture across the company, including the ongoing development of our Data Catalog and our Data Mesh approach with clearly defined Data Owners.
- Future Topics: Helping to shape the platform's readiness for future needs such as real-time/streaming data, Machine Learning, AI-driven analytics and self-service BI.
- Several years of experience in Data Analytics, BI or Data Engineering, at a mid-to-senior level.
- Proven experience leading technical teams, including people management responsibility.
- Experience working in mid-sized or internationally structured companies.
- Familiarity with data governance concepts such as Data Catalogs, Data Ownership, Data Mesh.
- Strong SQL skills
- Hands-on experience with Databricks as a data warehouse / lakehouse platform.
- Experience with data integration and transformation tools such as Fivetran and dbt.
- Experience with Power BI, including data modeling.
- Good English skills are important.
- Nice to have: Experience with SAP data integration (e.g. SAP S/4HANA) or knowledge of SAP Business Data Cloud. Familiarity with real-time/streaming data architectures (e.g. Kafka or comparable technologies), Machina Learning or AI-driven analytics.
