We are looking for a BI Data Engineer with solid expertise in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, reporting, self-service analytics, ETL, and process automation to join our team in digital transformation initiatives related to the management and reporting of EU Cohesion Funds and Structural Funds. The selected professional will actively participate in the design, development, and maintenance of data solutions, reporting platforms, automation workflows, and BI ecosystems.
The role involves designing, building, and optimizing end-to-end data pipelines and data warehouse solutions, as well as developing operational and analytical reporting frameworks. The engineer will implement self-service analytics platforms, semantic layers, and interactive Power BI dashboards to empower decision-makers with actionable insights. Additionally, the candidate will focus on process automation, API integrations, and document generation workflows tied to financial management, eligibility, audit, control, and performance monitoring.
In close collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams, the specialist will perform data analysis, requirements gathering, entity-relationship diagramming (ERD), and technical documentation. The position requires managing open-source orchestration tools (such as Apache Airflow), writing complex SQL queries, and utilizing Python for data processing, automation, and API integration. The professional will also manage GitLab repositories for version control, provide Linux administration support, oversee Docker containerized environments, and lead testing activities, UAT support, and user training sessions to ensure continuous alignment with public sector standards.

Requirements
- Educational level & Experience:
- EQF Level 7 + minimum 5 years of IT experience, OR
- EQF Level 6 + minimum 7 years of IT experience, OR
- Secondary Education + minimum 12 years of IT experience.
- English level: B2 or higher (spoken and written).
- Experience in EU Cohesion Funds & Structural Funds, specifically in analysis/delivery of automation and data warehouse services: minimum 12 months.
- Experience in reporting and self-service analytics for EU-funded programs: minimum 12 months.
- Experience in automation, API integration, or reporting related to financial management, eligibility, audit, control, performance, or document generation for EU programs: minimum 12 months.
- Experience in IT solutions for the public sector / European Institutions: minimum 12 months.

- We are looking for proven experience in:
- Data & BI: Data Warehouse / EDW, Data Lakes / Lakehouses, dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, datamarts, semantic layers, Power BI, dashboards, KPIs, and self-service BI.
- ETL / Data Engineering: ETL/ELT, orchestration, Apache Airflow, low-code/no-code tools (such as Informatica, Talend, dbt, or Azure Data Factory), data pipelines, schema evolution, and data integration.
- Databases: SQL, relational databases, performance optimization, indexing, partitioning, and storage strategies.
- Automation: RPA, Microsoft Power Automate Desktop/Cloud, UiPath, process automation, automated document generation, and API integrations.
- Development: Python, REST APIs, GitLab, and version control.
- Infrastructure: Linux administration, Docker/containers, CI/CD pipelines, VM management, and infrastructure support.
- Data Quality & Governance: Data validation, data observability, lineage, freshness, anomaly detection, data governance, security, GDPR compliance, and auditability.
- Recent certification in Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
- Microsoft Power Automate Desktop – RPA Master certification.
- Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals.
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineering Associate.
- Recent ETL certification or certificate of completion.
