SQL Server Database Architect at BairesDev

In this role, you'll transform a database engine supporting a proprietary internal application, moving away from deeply nested stored procedures toward a centralized, config-driven rules engine. Working alongside .NET and Blazor developers, you'll redesign and refactor for performance while planning a long-term migration from on-prem SQL Server to Azure. This is your opportunity to modernize a critical data architecture from the ground up, applying deep database expertise to a system where extracted logic and performance redesign will shape how the platform scales for years to come.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain secure, high-performance SQL Server databases.
• Refactor existing stored procedures into modular, maintainable logic in code.
• Work on a table-driven rules engine to centralize sizing and configuration logic.
• Collaborate closely with .NET and Blazor developers to improve backend integration.
• Ensure best practices in data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Plan and support the migration to Azure-based database services.

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in database architecture or engineering.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience with C#/.NET.
• Experience with Blazor for collaboration on front-end and backend integration.
• Strong background in database performance tuning, including indexing, execution plans, and normalization.
• Experience with stored procedure refactoring and data architecture design.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Nice To Have

• Experience migrating on-prem SQL environments to Azure SQL Database.
• Familiarity with config-based rules engines or metadata-driven architecture.
• Understanding of data modeling for custom applications.
• Experience with DevOps practices for database changes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines involving database scripts.
