Senior Accountant

Role Description The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing activities, and preparation of financial statements. Responsibilities include monitoring compliance with local regulations and internal policies, supporting tax reporting and filings, and reviewing the work of junior accounting staff. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports for management and clients, and providing accounting insights that support decision-making and business development. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Skopje, working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with tax reporting, compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, and support for audits and external reviews.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare clear, concise reports.
• Ability to supervise, review, and mentor junior accounting staff, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and client teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in en_US and local language, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-specialists.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in a firm serving multiple clients or industries; familiarity with international standards is a plus.
