Company: MyRacehorse / Experiential Squared

About MyRacehorse

MyRacehorse was founded on a simple but ambitious idea: the thrill of owning an elite Thoroughbred should be accessible to everyone. Today, more than 100,000 people have participated through our platform, celebrating 200+ victories, including wins on some of racing’s biggest stages.

As the flagship business of Experiential Squared (E2), MyRacehorse operates at the intersection of sports, technology, financial services, and experiential ownership. Because our ownership interests are offered through regulated securities frameworks, strong financial reporting, controls, planning, and regulatory execution are essential to our continued growth.

We are seeking an exceptional finance and regulatory operations leader to help build the infrastructure for our next stage of growth.

The Opportunity

The Vice President of Finance & Regulatory Operations will be the senior leader responsible for the integrity of MyRacehorse’s financial operations and regulatory systems. This hands-on, analytical role spans accounting oversight, financial planning and analytics, SEC reporting, audit and regulatory execution, and operational design.

As a close partner to the CEO and leadership team, this individual will provide the financial models, reporting, and insights needed to support strategic decision-making, fundraising, financial discipline, and MyRacehorse’s continued ability to bring compelling ownership opportunities to market.

The Team and Support Structure

This leader will inherit an established finance and regulatory operations foundation, supported by experienced internal teams and external advisors. Rather than performing every task, this role will bring together people, systems, data, and external expertise into a highly effective and scalable operating model.

What You Will Own

Finance and Accounting Leadership

  • Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of company- and series-level accounting.
  • Maintain and improve a reliable monthly close process, including reconciliations, management review, and clear accountability.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting for offering activity, horse and series expenses, reserve accounts, purse earnings, owner distributions, series closures, and related-party activity.
  • Strengthen internal controls, documentation, approval structures, and financial policies.
  • Lead cash management, treasury visibility, tax coordination, and financial risk management.
  • Develop a scalable finance organization and manage internal team members and external service providers.

Financial Planning, Analytics, and Capital Support

  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, cash planning, and scenario analysis.
  • Provide the CEO and leadership team with clear, decision-useful financial information—not simply historical reporting.
  • Evaluate business performance, investment requirements, pricing, resource allocation, and new growth initiatives.
  • Build management reporting that connects financial results with operating performance and surfaces the KPIs, patterns, and underlying drivers that matter most.
  • Help leadership understand profitability, customer economics, offering performance, capital efficiency, and the levers that drive growth.
  • Translate complex financial and operating information into a clear story for leadership, the board, and potential investors.
  • Support fundraising, investor reporting, presentations, data-room preparation, and financial diligence.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities early and recommend practical actions.

Audit and Regulatory Reporting

  • Own the annual audit process, including timelines, supporting schedules, issue resolution, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Ensure audited financial statements and other required financial information are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
  • Oversee the financial workstreams supporting Regulation A and Regulation Crowdfunding offerings and related SEC reporting.
  • Maintain an integrated audit and regulatory calendar with clear ownership, review requirements, and escalation procedures.
  • Partner closely with securities counsel and other advisors on technical accounting, disclosure, and regulatory matters.

Regulatory Operations and Governance

  • Build and maintain the operating model that supports MyRacehorse’s securities and compliance obligations.
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical workflows, controls, documentation, and accountability.
  • Oversee the operational processes supporting investor onboarding, suitability, KYC/AML, offering qualification, fund flows, ownership records, distributions, and series closures.
  • Ensure financial and ownership records are accurate, accessible, and capable of supporting audits, examinations, filings, and partner diligence.
  • Provide clear and timely reporting to the CEO and board regarding financial reporting, regulatory readiness, and material risks.

Systems, Partners, and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the company’s operational relationships with its broker-dealer, escrow agents, transfer agents, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial and regulatory partners.
  • Improve reconciliations among the general ledger, banking activity, payment systems, offering records, and ownership records.
  • Partner with Product and Technology to improve the systems, data, integrations, and automation supporting finance and regulatory operations.
  • Reduce manual work, missed deadlines, inconsistent processes, and key-person dependency without weakening controls.
  • Evaluate and improve the company’s vendors, technology, agreements, workflows, and organizational capabilities as the business evolves.
  • Lead major finance and regulatory improvement initiatives from evaluation through implementation and adoption.

What We Are Looking For

  • Typically 8+ years of progressively responsible experience across accounting, finance, audit, financial operations, or regulatory operations. We are more interested in demonstrated capability, judgment, and achievement than a specific number of years.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an audit and produce accurate financial statements in a complex operating environment.
  • Strong command of accounting fundamentals, internal controls, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash planning.
  • Meaningful experience with financial planning, forecasting, and executive-level decision support.
  • Exceptional analytical ability, including a talent for finding patterns in complex data, identifying the KPIs that truly matter, and turning financial information into a compelling business narrative.
  • Experience using financial analytics and business-intelligence tools to create reliable dashboards and executive reporting.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, board reporting, transaction diligence, or other capital-related initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated or operationally complex business such as fintech, alternative investments, investment platforms, private markets, financial services, funds, or a broker-dealer-adjacent environment.
  • Experience with SEC reporting, Regulation A, Regulation Crowdfunding, regulated securities offerings, series entities, transfer agents, escrow arrangements, or KYC/AML processes is strongly preferred.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred; candidates with equivalent technical accounting and operating experience will also be considered.
  • Proven success building and improving processes rather than simply maintaining inherited ones.
  • Experience managing internal teams and holding sophisticated external partners accountable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear business decisions.

The Person We Want

You are highly analytical, curious, and hands-on, with the ability to move seamlessly between financial details, operations, and strategic decision-making. You can review a reconciliation, challenge an accounting conclusion, improve a forecast, identify a broken workflow, uncover an important pattern in the data, and explain a material risk or opportunity to the CEO—all in the same day.

You ask the right questions, follow issues through to resolution, and build reliable, scalable systems. You understand that financial accuracy and regulatory discipline are essential to protecting our customers, reputation, and growth. As a change leader, you have the judgment and persistence to adapt processes and systems as regulations, technology, and business needs evolve.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, this leader will have:

  • Maintained and further improved a dependable monthly close and management-reporting process.
  • Implemented a useful rolling forecast and cash-planning model.
  • Built executive-quality financial analytics and KPI reporting capability.
  • Created a fundraising-ready financial model, reporting package, and diligence process.
  • Strengthened the company’s audit, SEC reporting, accounting, reconciliation, and control environment.
  • Improved the accuracy and consistency of financial, investor, ownership, and cash records across systems.
  • Clarified and strengthened how MyRacehorse works with its key financial and regulatory partners.
  • Reduced deadline risk, manual work, and reliance on knowledge held by individual employees.
  • Established a clear, reliable, and forward-looking view of the company’s financial position, regulatory obligations, risks, and capacity to scale.
