Overview

We are seeking Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers to support the development of a greenfield data platform. This role will assess current data engineering workloads, resolve delivery challenges, and move priority solutions into production.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Databricks and dbt Cloud, can build reliable and scalable data pipelines, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

What You’ll do

  • Assess existing data engineering workloads and identify technical or delivery issues.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and support data pipelines using Databricks and dbt Cloud.
  • Remediate pipeline, workload, and production-readiness challenges.
  • Move priority data workloads into production with a focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to data architecture, data modeling, testing, and deployment decisions.
  • Partner with solution leadership, senior stakeholders, and other engineers to establish sustainable engineering and delivery practices.
  • Communicate technical risks, recommendations, and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive, outcomes-focused delivery team.

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional experience designing and delivering modern data engineering solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Strong hands-on experience with dbt Cloud.
  • Data Vault experience
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience developing production-grade data pipelines.
  • Experience with data transformation, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Ability to assess existing workloads, troubleshoot delivery issues, and implement practical solutions.
  • Experience working in consulting, client-facing, or complex delivery environments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work remotely during Mountain Time business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Qlik Replicate or similar data ingestion tools.
  • Experience implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions.
  • Experience contributing to greenfield data platform builds or cloud data modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data quality, testing, monitoring, and deployment best practices.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is 80-100/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
