Job Description:
L3Harris Missile Solutions Segment Business Intelligence team is seeking a Senior Specialist, Data Architect and engineer that will be responsible for supporting solutions including the design, implementation and integration within Palantir foundry while leading cross-functional technical teams to enable data-driven decision-making for missile systems development and operations. This role will be responsible for data warehouse governance practices including data management, data quality, data security, and provisioning access. They will identify and develop sound data architectures by working with users and stakeholders to understand data visualization and reporting requirements. This role requires the ability to lead a team of programmers, data scientists, and business system experts with strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (including executives) to drive data-driven decision-making.
Essential Functions:
- Design and maintain data ontologies by defining object types, properties, and relationships that accurately represent business entities and their connections, ensuring data consistency and enabling powerful analytics across the organization.
- Develop interactive applications and workshops to create user-friendly solutions that enable business users to explore data, perform analyses, and make data-driven decisions without requiring technical expertise.
- Document and maintain data models and metadata management solutions to facilitate efficient and effective use of data.
- Create and optimize dashboards and applications to deliver real-time insights and enable self-service analytics for business stakeholders across various functional areas.
- Lead planning sessions with customers to improve business processes, prioritize investments in data and infrastructure, and translate data strategies into data integration frameworks and user-facing applications.
- Contribute the development and documentation of consistent methodologies and governance for extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from various sources such as Snowflake and Palantir, ensuring effective visualization and reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with IT and Data Analytics teams to ensure resource optimization, synchronization of initiatives, and prevent duplication of work across the enterprise, while maintaining comprehensive documentation including pipeline specifications, data schemas, and user guides.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Building and managing datasets, objects, pipelines, and transforms in Foundry.
- Designing and implementing Ontologies within Foundry.
- Creating Foundry applications and workshops for end-user consumption.
- Experience with Foundry's Code Repositories (Python, SQL, TypeScript).
- 2+ years of experience with data extract, transform, and load (ETL & ELT patterns), data storage, and data models using Palantir Foundry Pipeline Builder and/or Python.
- 2+ years of experience with Power BI or similar data visualization software, with preference for Foundry's native visualization capabilities.
- Experience working with Palantir Foundry in Data Warehouses.
- Proven ability to handle complex problems and take initiative to research issues, engage in self-learning, problem solve, and implement solutions.
- Able to adapt to ever-changing tech stacks and willingness to be flexible to alternate solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, commitment to quality, customer focus, adaptability, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate data-related requirements into innovative user solutions, drawing on prior education and experience, standard procedures, and basic analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with minimal oversight.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to influence outcomes in an agile environment.
