Senior Data Engineer

We address one of the world’s biggest problems – how to end smoking. There are 1,1 billion smokers in the world. Around 8 million people die every year from smoking-related diseases. Our goal is to significantly reduce death rates, save lives and inspire people to choose smoke-free enjoyment. How? By offering people other nicotine products online.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape the future of data at Haypp Group. As part of our Data Engineering team, you'll play a key role in building and scaling the data platform that powers decision-making across the entire business.

Working with a modern AWS-based stack including Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Docker and Terraform, you'll design and develop robust data solutions that transform complex e-commerce data into actionable insights. Your work will enable everything from business-critical analytics to advanced machine learning initiatives, helping us make smarter decisions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Engineer in Haypp, you’ll find modern technologies, agile workflows, and tight integration at the heart of the business. Implement, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting to multiple data sources such as in-house e-comm platform, shipping providers, warehouse systems etc. 

You will be working with the following things daily:

• Build and maintain scalable, testable and reliable data pipelines using best practices.
• Build and main robust data infrastructure in a version-controlled way
• Work closely with Analytics team colleagues to ensure integrity and quality of data.
• Liaise with stakeholders from all parts of the organisation to develop the data infrastructure to meet the prioritised business projects.
• Together with the tech team, drive the data infrastructure and its architecture forward.
• Learn, grow, be challenged and have fun!

Technical skills are important, but so is the way we work together. We're looking for someone who enjoys collaborating across teams, sharing ideas, and contributing to an open and supportive culture.

• Previous experience in Data Engineering roles.
• Fluency in using SQL and Python is a must to succeed at this role.
• A strong understanding on data governance, security, maintainability and observability.
• Experience working in and managing a cloud environment, such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience modeling data using industry standard tools such as dbt, and with data modeling concepts such as star schema, dimensional modeling etc.
• A commitment to ensuring data quality for downstream users of data.
• Technical ownership and familiarity with agile ways of working.
• You have a technical and commercial mindset, meaning you can take a business request and implement it technically.
• Are a team player – needs to be able to interact with the team, be adaptable.
• A good communicator, both with technical and non-technical counterparts.
• Fluent in English. Swedish is not a requirement but can be a plus.
• Ambitious with a will to learn and develop.
