Job Description (JD) – Test Lead – ( Advanced SQL and ETL )

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced ETL & SQL Lead with strong expertise in understanding and analyzing complex end-to-end data flows from Source Systems through Data Warehouse/Data Mart layers to Reporting and Dashboard platforms, drive the end-to-end project execution and lead the team in the project delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in data warehousing, ETL processes, cloud data platforms, data modeling, and stakeholder management

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

• Lead end-to-end delivery of elements projects from requirements understanding through production deployment.

• Define project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and resource allocations.

• Understand and document complex data lineage across multiple layers (Source Systems, Landing/Staging Layers, Integration/Transform Layers, Data Warehouse, Data Marts, Semantic/Reporting Layer, Power BI/Tableau dashboards)

• Perform impact analysis and trace data flow from source to dashboard.

• Analyze and validate business rules, transformation logic, mappings, and aggregations across layers.

• Create source-to-target mappings and data validation strategies.

• Lead ETL testing teams, data reconciliation, and root cause analysis activities.

• Write complex SQL queries and understand existing code base in the form Stored procedures for data analysis, profiling, and defect investigation.

• Mentor team members on SQL, ETL testing, and data validation techniques.

• Drive Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release management activities.

• Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

• Define strategies for validating dashboards from source tables, data reconciliation, validation of the data between layers and Dashboards Automation solutioning.

Stakeholder Management

• Understand data requirements from business and translate them into testable requirements

• Act as the primary point of contact between QE , Business and Dev Team

• Cloud Data Platforms: Snowflake

• ETL/ELT Tools: Matillion, DBT

• Databases: SQL Server

• SQL Expertise: Advanced SQL, Advanced Stored Procedures, CTEs, Window Functions, Query Optimization,

• BI & Reporting: Power BI,

• Data Modeling: Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling

• Data Engineering Concepts: Data Lineage, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Reconciliation

• Strong understanding of Data Modeling concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling).

• Hands-on experience with BI & Reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

• Familiarity with AI-enabled data solutions and automation frameworks.

Management Skills

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Ability to manage distributed offshore teams.

• Risk management, estimation, planning, and budget tracking expertise.

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Certifications in Snowflake, Mattilion, Advanced SQL, DBT

• Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Enterprise Data Transformation programs.
